Rebecca Spoonhour M.S. CCC-SLP

Rebecca earned her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. She has over 7 years of experience specializing in the assessment and treatment of speech sound disorders including developmental speech delays, articulation disorders (e.g. distortions of R and lisps), phonological disorders (e.g. switching sounds and deleting sounds), sound discrimination challenges due to hearing loss and neurological motor disorders like Childhood Apraxia of Speech.

She is passionate about building a strong foundation of growth-mindset skills in her patients from the very beginning of therapy. A consistent motto in her therapy space is WE CAN DO HARD THINGS! Rebecca prioritizes individualizing care to highlight strengths and meet each child where they are in development as well as day-to-day and moment-by-moment.

Rebecca has also personally experienced a tongue tie and release surgery in summer 2023 after finally being diagnosed as an adult! It is her newest passion to learn about the identification and treatment of tongue ties to support her patients to experience freedom when they are young. It is her belief that every child deserves to speak freely and it is her goal to partner with them on their journey to get there!

Fun facts about Rebecca: She is originally from Buffalo, NY, speaks French for fun and dreams of visiting France one day. When she is not working with patients, you will likely find her hiking outside with her husband and our two mini Australian Shepherds Ember and Ash.

“We are dedicated to helping children freely speak. Our approach is rooted in individuality and growth-mindset. Every child has a unique story to tell, and we're here to support them on their journey to tell it.”
